NRD will provide the securities industry with an efficient, streamlined process for registration. Eliminating outdated paper-based processes, NRD will deliver important benefits for firms, including:

Can members of the public use NRD to find out information about their dealers or advisors?

Public access to dealer or adviser information will not be available in the first release of NRD.

 

Members of the public will continue to have access to information about their dealers or advisers through their provincial or territorial securities commission. Many of the commissions provide basic registration information about registrants on their websites, including name, registration category and terms and conditions. Other commissions provide this information over the telephone.

 

 

How do I register my firm with the applicable securities commissions and apply for membership in the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO)?

In this release of the system, Firms will continue to apply for registration by submitting a Form 3 and all supporting documents in connection with such an application "in paper format". Applicants will continue to apply for membership to the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization by submitting the current application forms provided by the associations.   Applications for individuals must be filed trough NRD.

How do I enrol my firm to use NRD?
